With due respect and a pleasant smile on our lips, whole-heartedly we welcomed Sr. Kiran the Provincial Superior on 18th August 2018. The programe started by a meaningful prayer service and an inspiring candle dance by Class 9D. There were mesmerizing songs and a classical dance to greet her. She was overwhelmed by the performances and inspired us with her short speech emphasizing on ‘Knowledge and Service’ and the healing power of smile and joy.
1st Round of spelling contest was held on 13thJuly 2018. There were altogether 50 words from all subjects. Some of the students performed very well and got selected for the second round.
Children’s Day was celebrated in a gala manner on 8th November 2017. It started with a prayer service and reading from Holy scriptures followed by reflections read out by the teachers and the inspiring lines on Children’s Day. Out respected Principal, Sr. Karuna CJ gave an enlightening speech on Pt. Nehru and Children’s Day and blessed all the children.
It was for the very first time that sisters and teachers participated in different sports events on that day. Students’ joys knew no bound when they saw their teachers actively participating in lighting the candles, spoon and marble race, needle and thread race 50m, 100m, relay, musical chair etc. Biscuits were distributed to students on 14th November.
On 29th of November, Mrs. Shivani Priya, the head of the ‘Vedangana Foundation (NGO)’ took a plantation drive. They planted saplings besides our basket ball field. She was assisted by Mr. Sanjiv Kumar, her husband and Mr. Shashank Shekhar, an actor in Bhojpuri Movie. This was a good contribution towards our JPIC programme specially related to ‘Climate Change’.
An eye check up camp was organized by Vasan Eye Care in our school for three days in the month of October 2016, specialized doctors devoted their time in our school and our students benefitted from the check-up.
On 19th of August, DIG of Police Mr. Shalin IPS gave a very informational interaction with our secondary students on safety measures for girls. He informed that our Bihar Police is taking positive steps against the eve-teasers and rush driving. CCTV cameras have been installed to avoid any serious accidents or alleged misbehaviours. He also gave his personal whatsapp number in case of any help needed. Girls should try to help themselves in any untoward incidents.
From this session onwards parents-teachers meeting is being conducted class-wise. UKG had its meeting on 6th May, Class 1 on 8th July, Class 2 on 12th August and Class 3 on 9th September 2017. Parents were made aware of the various rules and regulations of the school. Discipline, regularity cleanliness, punctuality were the values emphasized upon. It was very interactive. This initiative was highly appreciated and applauded by the parents who discussed their problems freely with the teachers and the management.
The “Universal Solidarity Movement” (USM) meeting for the new session was held on 11th August 2016 in the school auditorium under the able guidance of our respected Principal Sr. Karuna CJ , Mrs. Archana Sharma and Mrs. Urvi Prasad were also present together with the students of classes 8 to 10. A new president, secretary and treasurer were chosen among the students. USM is a movement to bring about a change by being a change ourselves.

Labour Day was celebrated in our auditorium on 1st May. The celebrations began with a prayer service. The workers and staff received wonderful gifts and eatables. A hilarious skit on the present day judicial system was well presented. “Swach Bharat Abhiyan” was highlighted upon by a dance performance. Inspiring lines by Sr. Savio CJ, our manager, marked the end of the programme.
On 14th September 2018, we had a lively and interactive seminar by Dr. Sudhir Singhal, the great mathematician who is also Guiness World record holder. According to Dr. Singhal, smart work nowadays yield better result than hard work. To change the result, we need to change the focus. He gave some valuable tips to learn difficult multiplication tables and square roots of large numbers. To memorise large digits, he advised to visulaise them and form images associated with it. Such an interesting seminar really casted a magical spell on us all and maths then become magic.
On 27th September 2018, Sr. Cynthia CJ shared her views on sustainable development goals, the 17 goals which are to be achieved by 2030. Some of these goals are Zero Hungers, no poverty, quality education, gender equality etc. These goals tend to bring about transformation in the world. By becoming a global citizen we can have a feeling of belongingness which will help build a better world where no one is left behind and all can co-exist peacefully.
On 4th September 2018, Teachers’ Day is celebrated in honour of Dr. Radhakrishnan. This year also we had a spectacular celebratin on the day. There were mesmerizing dances, songs and skit to entertain the teachers. Through their performances the students expressed love, respect and gratitude towards their teachers. The audio-visual presentation on teachers was an effort worth appreciated. Teachers were highly elated to witness such remarkable events which captivated and enchanted them and made them feel so special. The management, our revered Principal, Sr. Karuna CJ also welcomed and blessed all the teachers on this joyous occasion.
Saloni Kumari of class 9-A, got selected for National level by school-games federation of India. There was state championship on 7th and 8th September, 2016 in Sitamarhi, n which Saloni Kumari won the Gold-medal in (48 Kg, under 17 category). Shreya Anand and Sneha Raj of Class – 10, won the Silver-medals. Shreya Anand has been selected as a stand-by for Nationals.
Our school, SJC, Jethuli became the champion in ‘Inter School Karate’ for the fifth consecutive year. This was held on 4th September, 2016 at Sports Complex, Patna and was organized by ‘Institute of Martial Arts’. SJC won 36 Gold-medals, 30 schools of 10 districts participated in the event.
SJC, Jethuli became champion once again n the Aprajita Memorial Girls Karate Championship. This was held on 17th September, 2016, at Institute of Martial Arts, Shaligram Complex, Gandhi Madan.
The extra-curricular activities of the new academic year (2018-19) began with “Hindi debate” of classes 6 to 10. The topics were very well selected like “Kya Aarakshan Zaroori hai, Yuva Shakti hi Bharat Ko Badal Sakti hai’ etc …. Our students spoke really well under the guidance of our Hindi teachers.
The English debate of secondary classes started from 3rd of May. Our students gave brilliant performance on the stage. They spoke too confidently on topics like ‘Western parenting is better than Indian parenting; Reality shows should be banned etc. The topics were really inspiring and motivating. The Primary classes 3, 4 & 5 had elocution. The students recited extremely well.
The academic year 2018-2019 commenced with the election of the captains and vice-captains of the four different houses, on 16th of April, classes – 8, 9 & 10 voted for them. The head girl and vice-head girl were also nominated.
The School celebrated the annual Fete. Students with their teachers prepared various foods and conducted varous games. It was a very enjoyable day for the staff and the students.
St. Joseph's Convent High School, Jethuli celebrated Christmas with a cultural programme. The Christmas story was acted out by the students. The principal gave the Christmas message.
Art and Craft Exhibition was held at St. Joseph’s Convent High School where students participated in the exhibition by making paper craft and beautiful paintings dipicting the life of Mother Mary Ward. The students used innovative ideas to demonstrate their skills. The exhibition also exhibited cloth paintings done by the students.
Primary classes had their annual function on 14th of October 2017. It was a colourful programme and the students of classes UKG to classes 5 showcased their talents in a grand manner. Our Chief Guest Mr. Shyam Nandan Prasad, Executive officer in city council, Fatwa, graced the occasion and was full of praise for the efforts put up by the students and teachers to make this event a great success. The theme ‘Peace and Harmony’ was well justified by the various performances and a skit on the life of Saint Mother Teresa was also staged. Our karate girls did not lag behind and displayed their splendid feat. Overall, it was a wonderful programme and was well appreciated by the spectators.
